Timeless architecture mixed with classic design and a touch of modern elegance were key elements when Caitlyn and Ryan said their I Do’s. The couple wed in a traditional Catholic ceremony at Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church and had their magical reception at the historic Vibiana in Los Angeles.
The bride looked stunning in her lace bridal gown and matching off-white Manolo Blahnik heels while her twelve bridesmaids wore all black in beautiful contrast to the wedding dress. The groom and his groomsmen were handsome in their black tuxedos and matched the reception decor perfectly.
“Being surrounded by the love of large families and our many friends, we knew from the beginning, our wedding would be a large-scale event. Therefore, we wanted to make our wedding not just an event that we would remember, but that our guests would especially enjoy,” the bride said.
Caitlyn and Ryan knew early on that they wanted an overall clean aesthetic. Both the ceremony venue and the reception venue contain historic and timeless architecture, and the couple wished to compliment those design aspects, while also adding a touch of modern elegance. To help make their vision come alive, the couple collaborated with wedding planner Monique Atwell of A Signature Wedding who customized their desired style using primarily the color of white, and accenting with gold and black.
The couple chose a variety of white flowers and greenery that incorporated a bright, fresh, and unique feel, while also keeping the overall look classic. The floral design included sword fern, which is reminiscent of feathers, a nod to the art deco design elements of Vibiana.
“I’ll never forget the wonderful fragrance of our florals. The combination of holding my beautiful bouquet, to the overwhelmingly sensory feeling of opening the doors to the main hall of Vibiana – I wish I could bottle it!,” the bride said.
As Caitlyn and Ryan entered the checkered black and white dance floor to share their first dance as husband and wife, the spectacular ceiling light installation shone like stars above the newlyweds. It was truly a magical moment.
“I’ll always remember my sense of awe, marveling at the sheer volume of the flowers, taking in the beautiful aroma, and seeing all our friends and family enthusiastically welcoming us to this new chapter in our lives as a married couple,” the groom said.
